Overview:

The Physical Therapy Department at Quinnipiac University is looking for a dynamic individual to fill a unique role in a partnership with Masonicare of Wallingford, the state’s leading provider of healthcare and retirement living communities for seniors.

You will divide your time between the Quinnipiac campus in North Haven and the Masonicare Wallingford location to integrate experiential learning within the Masonicare organization. You will be responsible for teaching in the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, developing and overseeing Integrated Clinical Experiences at Masonicare with an emphasis on interprofessional experiences, managing the School of Health Sciences clinical affiliations at Masonicare, and developing meaningful QU student/Masonicare resident interactions.

The individual will work full-time, spending a minimum of one day per week in the physical therapy department at Quinnipiac University and a minimum of three days per week at Masonicare in Wallingford. Release time is available one day per week to work clinically at Masonicare. Details will be arranged with the Chair of the Physical Therapy Department at Quinnipiac University and the Corporate Director of Learning at Masonicare.

This is a full-time, 12-month Visiting Professor 1-year appointment.

About the Physical Therapy Program:

The DPT curriculum at Quinnipiac is a hybrid model of foundational science integrated into a professional model of health care delivery for contemporary society. Physical therapy knowledge and skills are applied through clinical decision-making with authentic cases in and out of the classroom. Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or advanced academic degree in related field; candidates enrolled in degree program will be considered
  • Graduated from an CAPTE-accredited PT program, holding a current license and eligible for licensure by the Connecticut Board of Physical Therapy
  • Five or more years of clinical experience as a licensed physical therapist; experience in a variety of practice settings across the continuum of care preferred
  • Three or more years of teaching experience as a Clinical Instructor (CI) or within a DPT program
  • Commitment to interprofessional education/practice

The Physical Therapy Department at the College of St. Scholastica invites applications for an open faculty position with an anticipated start of Fall Semester 2018. The position is tenure track negotiable, dependent upon credentials. The CSS Physical Therapy Department occupies a brand-new Health Sciences Building located just over a mile from the College’s main campus in Duluth, Minnesota. This 45,000 square foot building has state-of-the-art teaching, clinic, and laboratory space shared by the Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physician Assistant programs. Position Summary

Position Description:

Applicants are invited to apply for a full-time 12-month faculty position (rank and track dependent on qualifications) for a 3-year entry-level DPT Program ), with ten core faculty positions and a diverse student body (34 students per class). Responsibilities as Chief will include managing all administrative aspects of the program such as budgeting and implementation of program policies and procedures, and providing vision and leadership to faculty, staff and students. Academic responsibilities will include teaching in areas of expertise or program need, accreditation, curricular development experience, and scholarly activity appropriate for rank. A history of progressively responsible positions in academic leadership and management is desirable.

The UNM Division of Physical Therapy is located in the culturally diverse city of Albuquerque, which lies in the high desert ecosystem of central New Mexico. The city straddles the Rio Grande River and is bordered by the Sandia Mountains on the East and a string of five inactive volcanoes on the West. A number of Native American Reservations and Pueblos exist in or near the city. Besides being renowned for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, numerous hiking and biking trails are within easy access, and river rafting and skiing are just around the corner. Although NM experiences 4 seasons, outdoor leisure activities are possible all year round due to typically favorable weather conditions.

UNM is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of Colleges and Schools. The Physical Therapy program, within the Health Science Center and associated with the University of New Mexico Hospital, has been accredited since its first graduating class of 1976, and most recently received reaccreditation without concerns in 2015. Opportunities exist for collaboration across medical and rehabilitation programs. The sole DPT program in NM, UNM has a three-year graduation rate of 95.2% and first time licensure pass rate of 98.3% (2015-2017). Ideal facilities include 2 new classrooms with state of the art A/V support and lecture capture, a human cadaver anatomy lab, and a motion analysis lab with 10 infrared cameras, 3 force plates, 16 channel wireless EMG, Zeno mat, and a Biodex isokinetic dynamometer available for research and clinical use. As a part of their service to the university, PT faculty can assist at the REACH clinic, a pro bono clinic run by UNM DPT students, and at the Albuquerque Opportunity Center Heading Home shelter for homeless men, led by multidisciplinary students from the Health Science Center. Finally, the Division has a robust international study abroad program with student opportunities in Guatemala, Ethiopia and Russia.

Founding Director of Occupational Therapy

St. Bonaventure University (SBU) is seeking applicants for the Founding Director of Occupational Therapy (OT) to establish a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) degree program and to direct the proposed Department of Occupational Therapy within the School of Health Professions. This is a tenure track appointment at the assistant or associate level, based on experience. The Director will enjoy many opportunities for inter-professional education as the other members of the School of Health Professions Team become established. Summary of Job Duties

The Clinical Assistant Professor will work with the program director and OT faculty in this developing OTD program to design the curriculum, develop course content and lab activities, and establish relationships with community partners. This is a 12-month non-tenure faculty position with significant teaching, student advisement, and mentoring responsibilities. Service, participation in student projects, and some scholarship are also required.

All faculty in this program will be expected to participate in practice and in the supervision of students in the clinic or the community. All faculty will participate in the fieldwork process and may do site visits. Travel may be required for this position.

Students will not be admitted into this program until 2019-2020 academic year so this is a rare opportunity for a forward thinking individual to have dedicated time to collaborate with a core group of incoming faculty to create an OTD program grounded in occupation and innovation, to build or further a scholarship agenda, and engage in faculty practice.

Description: The Department of Physical Therapy at Azusa Pacific University invites applications for a faculty position in our Doctor of Physical Therapy program. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in teaching and scholarship with preference for those in the area of primary/cardiopulmonary/acute care.

Specialization: The successful candidate will teach, design curricula, and carry out research in their area of specialty.

Responsibilities:
* Teach within their area of expertise, serve on departmental and university committees, and pursue their own research agenda.

Qualifications: A physical therapist with earned terminal academic doctorate (Ph.D. EdD. DHS, DSc) in physical therapy or a related field of study is required. Applicants must be eligible for PT licensure in California; a defined research agenda and record of publications; a strong Christian commitment.
